From Gregg H.: I just read this month’s edition of The Palm Beach Letter regarding peer-to-peer (P2P) lending.

I discovered P2P over three years ago and started investing. My net annualized return is 6.41%. As the issue said, I found it easy to use and have had obvious success. None of my notes defaulted and currently only one is late.

My only trepidation is that there isn’t anything backing the loans like there is in real estate. If that doesn’t bother you, then it is a great alternative investment.

From Paul K.: Factoring P2P lending could make all of us between 15% and 50%.

Reeves’ Comment: An ingenious idea… have you tried doing this, Paul?

From Jim C.: Regarding Mark Ford’s comments in the March 9 Daily

First of all, a very thought-provoking piece. However, I think one important aspect is overlooked.

For those in retirement and searching for a new career, it matters deeply if you have a spouse. Searching takes time and a fair amount of trial and error. There is not enough space here to explain… but it can cause irreparable damage to one’s marriage.

I am presently going through a divorce that I did not see coming, mostly because I failed to accurately communicate my intentions with my wife. I am still searching… but will now be doing it alone after three-plus decades of a fruitful marriage.

From Jonathan C.: Mark, great overview on choosing the best life!

As I look back at my failures and successes, the one thing I believe made the difference is I was willing to work harder than all the others… even though, at times, I did not know why I was going the extra mile.

Opportunity knocks when you least expect it, not when you are looking for it. The key is, are you ready for it? Did your work habits and experience allow you to take advantage of it?

Many folks are always wishing/looking for the big success. They are also the ones who believe “you” just got lucky.

I have been lucky for the last 15 years: the same core staff… which outworks our competition by at least 15-1… more profit and money to share… a staff paid at least twice the competition… and success for all!

Reeves’ Comment: Excellent insight, gents. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with the Palm Beach community. Once again, I’m blown away by the tremendous value we all enjoy from so many brilliant minds…
